Comments sought on proposed natural gas facilities | News, Sports, Jobs

BISMARCK – The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality has announced it is seeking public comment on proposed permits for two natural gas processing plants and electric generation facilities in Divide County.

Braun Intertec Corp. submitted an application for an air pollution control permit for the Nokota Gas Processing Daniele Facility and Nokota Gas Processing Nate Facility in August last year. Flare mitigation gas takeaway agreements were signed between Nokota Gas Processing and Phoenix Operating for the locations.

The NDDEQ deemed the initial application incomplete, and the company submitted an updated application in February.

The NDDEQ is seeking public comment through April 19. The department’s analysis and draft copies of each project’s Permit to Construct are available on the NDDEQ website.

For purposes of official consideration, all comments on the Daniele facility must include the subject line “Re: Public Comment for Permit Number ACP-18307 v1.0,” and must be directed in writing via email to AirQuality@nd.gov or via physical letter addressed to the NDDEQ, Division of Air Quality, 4201 Normandy Street, 2nd Floor, Bismarck, ND 58503-1324.

All comments on the Nate facility must be similarly submitted with the subject line “Re: Public Comment for Permit Number ACP-18301 v1.0.”

All comments received will be considered in the final determination concerning issuance of the permit, and those who comment will be notified in writing of the final determination.
