Are you ready for the 2025-26 game bird hunting season? It opens Nov. 1 : Big Island Now

The 2025-26 game bird hunting season opens Nov. 1 in Hawai‘i, and runs through Jan. 25, 2026. Final day for hunt mourning doves is Jan. 11, 2026.

All game bird hunters should be familiar with Title 13, Chapter 122, “Rules Regulating Game Bird Hunting.”
Hunters will be required to check in and out at established hunter check stations or through the OuterSpatial mobile app — available on the Google Play Store and from The Apple App Store — unless otherwise indicated.
Landowner permission is required when seeking to hunt on private land.
Visit the Hawai‘i Department of Land and Natural Resources website to purchase or renew your hunting license or game bird stamp.
Prevent wildfires by not parking or driving in tall grass or brush. Be sure to report any fires by calling 9-1-1.
