‘Enjoy the natural habitat’: Pa. Congressman supports Lehigh Valley nature conservation efforts | Lehigh Valley Regional News

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. – Pennsylvania Congressman Ryan Mackenzie is advocating to keep money flowing into the Lehigh Valley’s natural resources.

He and officials from the Land and Water Conservation Fund visited South Mountain Preserve in Emmaus Wednesday.

They hiked through the Wildlands Conservancy and talked about the impact of the national program’s investments in the environment.

Mackenzie says the projects maintain a quality of life.

“You know, there’s a lot of development that you can’t stop but on the places that you can preserve, we want to do that so that again, people can enjoy the outdoors, do recreation, enjoy the natural habitat,” he says.

The Land and Water Conservation Fund has provided more than 15 million dollars to support nearly 200 projects throughout Mackenzie’s district.
