A Rockville-based bakery company will expand its facility in Frederick, with a project expected to add 125 full-time jobs by the end of 2028.
Bakery de France’s new facility will be at the company’s existing location at 8400 Bakery Way, Gov. Wes Moore’s office announced Monday.
The Frederick site is currently used for long fermentation of its artisan bread brands.
The new site will increase the company’s production of baguettes, dinner rolls, bread loaves, and other products.
The new 176,000-square-foot facility will be Bakery de France’s third location in the United States.
Maryland’s Department of Commerce is working to provide a $700,000 conditional loan for the expansion, while Frederick County will provide commercial and industrial tax credits, as well as other tax exemptions.
The company has been authorized for a fast-track permitting approval process by the city of Frederick, and is eligible for the city’s commercial and industrial tax credit.
