The energy drink company co-founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson agreed to a $3 million settlement in a class action lawsuit that alleges ZOA Energy used misleading marketing.
ZOA Energy was sued in the Northern California District Court on Oct. 23, 2023. The lawsuit claims the “0 Preservatives” drink labels are false advertising due to the drinks containing citric and ascorbic acids.
ZOA Energy denies the allegations and maintains that the labeling is truthful and compliant with applicable law.
Individuals who purchased ZOA Energy drinks between March 1, 2021 and Nov. 21, 2025, are eligible for a claim of the $3 million settlement fund.
According to the settlement, customers who submit a claim with receipts will receive up to $150 per household. Customers who do not submit proof of purchase will receive up to $10 per household.
Claim forms can be submitted online or postmarked by mail until Feb. 20, 2026.
The final hearing is scheduled for March 26 where the court will decide whether to approve the settlement.
