The Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame is recognizing six individuals for their contributions to the advancement of agriculture.
Board Chair Blair Cummins says the award recognizes a lifetime of commitment and innovation to create new companies, new products and new markets for Saskatchewan’s agriculture sector.
This year’s inductees include – Terry Baker, Norbert Beaujot, Joe Kleinsasser, Mary McKay Lindsay, Mark
Pickard and Cecil Werner.
Terry Baker – A producer and business leader who helped build Saskatchewan’s agricultural infrastructure. Baker served as board chair of Agrivita, promoting health and safety research in agriculture. He spent 5 years as the Chair of the Sask Health Research Foundation and carried it thru a major transition. He served as the last Chair of the Board of Directors and former President of Sask Wheat Pool and first Board Chair of Viterra.
Norbert Beaujot – Founder and president of SeedMaster Manufacturing, Beaujot revolutionized the no-till industry with his patented hydraulic ground-following opener and later launched DOT Technology Corporation, pioneering autonomous seeding platforms.
Joe Kleinsasser – A Rosetown-area producer and strong advocate for consumer education. Kleinsasser chaired Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan, served on boards including Sask Pork and SPI Marketing Group, and continues to promote transparency in food production.
Mary McKay Lindsay – A visionary livestock producer who immigrated from Scotland in 1906. In 1929, she became one of Canada’s first Highland cattle breeders and helped develop the Speckle Park breed through crossbreeding initiatives.
Mark Pickard – The late founder of InfraReady, a company specializing in infrared precooking technology to add value to Saskatchewan grains. Under his leadership, InfraReady grew from a Wheat Pool subsidiary into a global supplier of custom-designed food ingredients.
Cecil Werner – A champion of Saskatchewan’s value-added industry. Werner founded CanMar Grain Products, a major exporter of mill-roasted flax, and WestCan Alfalfa, which processed and exported dehydrated alfalfa pellets worldwide.
The six individuals will be formally inducted into the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon. Tickets will be available at www.sahf.ca starting in early February.
