Crowds interested in farming and policy will soon gather in Geneseo for a public discussion on agriculture in Livingston County and beyond. The Livingston County Environmental Management Council is hosting the event later this month.
The program centers on a presentation and roundtable discussion with Jack Klapper, a partner at Noblehurst Farm. The Linwood-based operation spans seven generations and remains family run.
What the program will cover
Klapper plans to share updates on agricultural policy and economic impacts tied to farming. He will also highlight Noblehurst Farm’s work and stewardship actions. Organizers say the discussion will focus on challenges and opportunities facing agriculture in Livingston County.
The event also ties into Klapper’s broader advocacy work through county and state agency memberships. Organizers describe him as a strong advocate for agriculture across multiple levels of government.
When and where
The regularly scheduled Environmental Management Council meeting will run from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The presentation and roundtable discussion with Klapper will begin at 7 p.m.
The event takes place Jan. 28 at 6 Court Street, Room 205/208, in Geneseo. The program is free, and organizers do not require registration.
Organizers encourage residents with questions to contact the Livingston County Planning Department at 585-243-7550.
