Golden Pass LNG in Port Arthur, Texas, produced its first LNG Monday, its owners said, a big step toward selling more U.S. natural gas into the global market. For gas consumers who are dependent on imports, the additional supply can’t come soon enough. With roughly 20% of global LNG capacity blocked at the Strait of Hormuz, gas prices have surged in Europe and Asia.
