(MENAFN) The director of cereals and commercial services of Chabahar Free Zone Organization stated in an announcement that over 250,000 tons of basic commodities were cleared from Chabahar port, in the southeast of Iran throughout the first two months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-May 21).

Barat Khajeh stated that the clearance of basic commodities, such as wheat, rice as well as corn, from the port showing a 70 percent increase in terms of mass, and 118 percent expansion in terms of price in the stated two-month time in contrast with the same period of the last year.

As earlier stated in an announcement by a local official, 1,981,156 tons of basic commodities were shipped from Chabahar port to the selected destinations across the nation in the last Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20).
