Delta Utilities, United Way partner to offer natural gas bill assistance for Louisiana customers

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Louisiana utilities company is partnering with the United Way of Southeast Louisiana to offer customers help paying their gas bills.
According to a news release, Delta Utilities has launched “DU Cares,” an assistance program that will provide short-term financial relief to families experiencing difficulties paying their natural gas bills.
The Delta Utilities Foundation has committed up to $20,000 for DU Cares in 2026. The program would offer up to $250 in utility bill assistance for qualifying households. Each household would get one assistance payment in 12 months, according to the company.
To be eligible for the assistance payment, households must live in the Delta Utilities service area and have an active Delta Utilities natural gas account.
