J2 Metals starts IP survey at Miniac Project

J2 Metals has begun an induced polarity (IP) survey at its Miniac Project in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in Quebec, Canada.

Conducted by Abitibi Geophysics of Val-d’Or, the survey covers 41km using the OreVision 2DIP system.

This initiative aims to assist with drill targeting for a phase two diamond drilling campaign.

Abitibi Geophysics will execute the survey on a pre-cut grid using 50m station spacing and a 30-electrode array, aiming to reach a depth of 580m.

The high-resolution survey includes 200m line spacing with 800m tie lines and an additional conventional IP grid situated to the south.

Geosquad consultants will manage the project, led by geological consultants Donald Boukesse and Christian Derosier.

The phase two drilling campaign seeks to explore anomalies identified in a December 2023 report by ALS Goldspot.

The Miniac Property located roughly 35km north of Amos, Quebec, consists of 78 mining claims covering 41km².

It lies in the Northern Volcanic Zone of the Abitibi Subprovince, known for its gold and polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits.

Previous drilling efforts at the Miniac site reported intersections in drill-hole 20MDD004 of 1.05 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 0.16% zinc over 4.65m, while drill-hole Min-83-4 recorded 0.29g/t gold, 6.01g/t silver and 0.261% copper across 3.5m.

J2 Metals CEO and director Thomas Lamb said: “Miniac gives J2 investors compelling exposure to critical minerals and gold in one of the world’s great mining addresses, the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of Quebec, while complementing our exciting Sierra Plata silver-gold project in Mexico.

“The Abitibi has produced over 200moz [million ounces] of gold across 124 mines and is widely regarded as the premier VMS and orogenic gold jurisdiction on Earth. Miniac is a 100%-owned polymetallic VMS target situated in the Northern Abitibi Volcanic Zone, positioned along the Chicobi fault system between the past-producing Normétal Mine and the Osborne-Bell Mine.

“Normétal alone yielded approximately 10.1mt [million tonnes] grading 2.15% copper, 5.12% zinc, 0.549g/t gold and 45.25g/t silver. This is equivalent to roughly 479 million pounds of copper, 1.14 billion pounds of zinc, 178,000oz of gold and 14.7moz of silver, a powerful testament to the metal endowment of this fault corridor.”

In December 2025, J2 Metals signed a three-year option agreement to acquire the Sierra Plata silver-antimony project from Impact Silver.
