JCPS kicks off Agriculture Education Week at Tully Elementary | Education


LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Jefferson County Public Schools celebrated the beginning of Kentucky’s All in for Agriculture Education Week Monday morning with a kickoff at Tully Elementary School.

The event featured hands-on, real-world learning experiences for Tully students to demonstrate the impact and importance of urban agriculture.

Kentucky’s Agricultural Commissioner Jonathan Shell was in attendance along with other local and state leaders.

The event was followed by a walk-through of Tully along with three other JCPS schools.

All in for Agriculture Education Week is a bi-annual initiative led by Commissioner Shell, Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and Education Commissioner Robbie Fletcher to increase access to agricultural education across the state.

The next Ag. Education week will take place Sept. 21-25.
