(ABC 6 News) – Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture is officially running for a third term in office.
On Monday, January 26th, Mike Naig officially launched his reelection campaign, touting his successes as state agriculture secretary and looking ahead to future priorities.
Naig released the following statement, laying out his reason for running for reelection:
“As Secretary of Agriculture, my focus has always been on delivering results for Iowa. We’ve grown markets for Iowa products, saved families money at the gas pump, expanded conservation efforts across the state, and protected the livelihoods of those who feed and fuel consumers at home and around the world. There’s more work to do, and that’s why I’m running: to keep Iowa growing.”
If reelected, Naig says his priorities include continuing to grow markets for Iowa farmers at all levels. He adds he will also focus on conservation efforts and agricultural opportunities for young Iowans.
Naig was first elected as Iowa Secretary of Agriculture in 2018 and reelected in 2022.
