Power appears to be restored at RDU, equipment issue left more than 1,000 people without power :: WRAL.com

Duke Energy officials said an equipment issue caused an outage on Friday evening that impacted 1,800 customers, including at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

RDU officials said they worked with Duke
Energy crews to resolve the issues as quickly as possible, and backup
generators were running. It appeared power was back on around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

“We are in the process of rerouting power now to bring the airport back soon,” Duke Energy officials said.

It is unclear if the outage has impacted any flights.
