SR University welcomes new agriculture students with orientation and field visit


SR University’s School of Agriculture hosted an orientation for its newly admitted B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture students. The programme featured addresses by university leaders, curriculum insights aligned with ICAR guidelines, and a farm visit to introduce students to hands-on learning.

Hanamkonda: The School of Agriculture, SR University, organised an orientation programme for the newly admitted first-year B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture students of the 2025 batch.

The event, organised at SRiX Auditorium on the university campus, marked the formal welcome of students into the SRU agricultural community, aiming to orient them towards academic excellence.


The SRU Chancellor, A Varada Reddy, Registrar Dr. P. Venkata Ramana Rao and Dean, School of Agriculture Dr. G. Bhupal Raj addressed the students and their parents. Varada Reddy stated that agricultural graduates were the backbone of national progress.

He advised the students to pursue excellence, integrity and innovation throughout their academic journey. He urged students to embrace technology-driven learning and contribute to the evolving agriculture sector.

Dr. Bhupal Raj highlighted the objectives of the programme and briefed students about the dynamic curriculum aligned with ICAR’s VI Dean’s Committee recommendations. He encouraged the students to focus on both academic and practical learning to meet emerging challenges in modern agriculture.

The students participated in a farm and agriculture block visit, where they were introduced to practical aspects of fieldwork and experiential learning. Head, School of Agriculture Dr. M. Mohana Keerthi was present, said a release.
