Following a welcome speech by the co-chairs and an opening overview of where the Latin American private equity market currently stands, the conference will kick off with a panel on deal flow, challenges and opportunities in Latin America. Leading private equity bankers will discuss disruption caused by the pandemic and inflation, and what are the winning strategies for successful investments in the region, among other subjects.
The second panel will explore how private equity professionals execute a successful transaction, how the best deals are sourced and the role of lawyers to support such transactions.
The next discussion will focus on the impact of inflation, the stress of supply lines, the boom in energy prices and how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine affects the Latin American investment climate. Panellists will explore several topics including investment strategies, the deals that make sense in a degrading economy and whether restructuring offers an opportunity for private equity.
After a networking lunch, speakers in the next panel will investigate why infrastructure and real estate have become engines of growth and strong returns in private equity lately. How are returns found in real estate and what are the legal skills and distinctive issues in infrastructure transactions, are two of several questions that will be raised in the discussion.
Following a fireside chat, the event will end with a panel about stories of ‘success and distress’. It will focus on the experience of representatives from private equity groups and target companies, as well as private practitioners, in investments with a record of value creation and successful exits in Latin America.
