In his new role, Partner will support the Amadeus team in identifying and assessing promising investment opportunities and advise portfolio companies as they scale and commercialize.

“Gaining access to David’s expertise, drawn from running both start-ups and global enterprises, will be a great advantage to our portfolio companies, as he has first-hand experience of turning revolutionary ideas into scalable, profitable businesses,” Amadeus CEO and co-founder Anne Glover said in a statement.

Parker’s career highlights include executive roles for such companies as Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies and Marconi. He is the former CEO of SPI Lasers and co-founded and led Lumenisity.

Amadeus, based in London, was founded in 1997. It is currently raising two funds: Amadeus VI Technology Fund, which has an undisclosed target, and Amadeus APEX Technology Fund, which is targeting €80 million and has raised €28 million in a first close, according to fundraising data from affiliate Private Equity International (registration required).

Amadeus VI has already received commitments of undisclosed amounts from Aviva Investors, British Patient Capital, King’s College Cambridge, Pentland Group and Sands Capital, PEI reported.

Amadeus previously closed on £110 million ($140.3 million; €130.7 million) for Amadeus V Technology Fund in April 2021, PEI said.
