Endeavour Silver production fell nearly a quarter in the fourth quarter, but in-line with its targets and said that recently-implemented initiatives to improve mine and mill productivity should help support improved production going forward.

On production:

“Consolidated silver production decreased 23% to 1.4 million ounces in 4Q 2023 compared to 4Q 2022, primarily driven by lower silver production at the Guanacevi mine [in Mexico] due to a reduction in silver grade and slightly lower throughput.”

The company’s throughput came to 220,464 metric tons in the quarter, down about 2% from a year earlier.

“Although the grades at El Curso have returned to historic averages during 4Q 2023, the company was mining in higher grade areas in 4Q 2022. Local third-party ore continued to supplement mine production, totaling 14% of quarterly throughput.”

“Implementing these initiatives allowed us to successfully overcome the challenges that affected 3Q production. Not only did Guanaceví’s production return to historical levels, which is expected to be continue into 2024, our recovery plan more than met expectations, allowing us to achieve our annual production guidance with strong fourth-quarter performance,” Chief Executive Dan Dickson said.
