CARBONDALE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — UGI Utilities says it will begin a system upgrade Monday in Carbondale.
Between Monday, March 23, and Friday, March 27, UGI workers will be doing construction from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to upgrade the natural gas system.
The work may cause people in the area to experience lane and parking restrictions during construction hours, as well as natural gas service interruptions and access to properties.
PennDOT issues lane restrictions on Interstate 80
The following streets will be affected by the construction:

Brooklyn Street between Phoenix Avenue and Birch Avenue

Cottage Street between Brooklyn Street and Bridge Court
The installation of the new natural gas main is expected to be completed in May.
Paving and restoration will follow underground work.
