Our Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities schedule for Persona 3 Reload is a work in progress, and we’ll be updating it periodically as we continue through the game.
Run by the shady businessman you’ll find at Paulownia Mall after your Charm skill is high enough, President Tanaka is the host of Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities, a home shopping program that airs once a week.
Available from this program are rare items, costumes, gifts, and gear you can’t get elsewhere, and every listing on the program comes with one or more items per lot you buy.
If you have the money on hand while you watch the program and you’re interested in what’s being listed for sale, you’ll have the option to call and order immediately while watching the program.
Just be sure you have the money on you before you turn on the TV, as you only have one chance to order from President Tanaka per week.
If you don’t order the first time you watch television, the program will sell out of the item, and you will not have another chance to purchase the set even if you watch TV a second time that day.
When you order from Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities, your order normally arrives the following Tuesday.
If there’s a plot point that keeps you from controlling your protagonist that day (an exam or Full Moon fight, for instance), you’ll receive the shipment the next time you control your protagonist.
Tune Into Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities Every Sunday
Except for some of the late-game dates tied to the story of Persona 3 Reload, Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities airs every Sunday afternoon as soon as you gain control of your protagonist for the day.
He’ll often remark that it’s time for the home shopping program to remind you, in case you’ve lost track of dates.
Either in your room or in the lounge at the Iwatodai Dorms, watch television on Sunday mornings to tune in. Tanaka’s delightfully catchy theme song will begin playing immediately, and the man himself will appear on-screen to tell you what’s for sale.
You never have to buy anything from the home shopping program, but Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities is the only way to get certain items throughout the game, so it always pays to at least check out what he’s got on offer that day.
Watching the home shopping program does not consume your time slot – you still have free time once your order is placed.
