LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – There is a USDA commodity food distribution today, Wed., March 6, on West Beech Street. It will be at the La Follette Community Center, the former West La Follette School, on 300 West Beech Street.

Commodities will be distributed during the hours of 8:30am until noon and then from 1pm until 3pm or until the food is gone.  The staff will break for lunch from noon to 1pm.

The staff at ETHRA requests that no one arrive more than 30 minutes ahead of the start time.  Arriving too early creates congestion and confusion.

You may pick up food for up to three households only.

In accordance with federal law, both ETHRA and the USDA are prohibited from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

Anyone with questions can call Renee` at the local Campbell County ETHRA Office at 423.562.2948 extension 5202.  Darlene’s extension is 5201.

A card is not required to pick up food. People are ask to bring proof of receiving Food Stamps, SNAP benefits, TANF (Families First), SSI, LIHEAP (energy assistance) or live in public housing. However, if someone doesn’t have any of these, bring proof of household income.

Distribution hours run as scheduled or until the food is gone. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/06/2024-6AM)
