Private equity and M&A partner Brian Miner has joined global law firm Dechert in New York. Miner joins the firm’s corporate and securities practice group.

Miner, who previously worked for international law firm Schulte Roth & Zabel’s New York office as co-chair of the M&A and securities group, brings with him knowledge and experience across the corporate and securities sectors, having advised on a broad range of industries including financial services, energy, manufacturing, insurance, and life sciences.

His clients include private equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as asset managers. Miner’s experience also includes assisting asset management firms and funds on innovative liquidity solutions, and structuring, negotiating, and executing asset management stakes and minority control investment transactions. His appointment will strengthen the firm’s corporate and securities practice and its middle market private equity and M&A legal offering for its clients.

Dechert’s corporate and securities practice group co-chair Ken Young commented: “We are delighted to welcome Brian to the firm. His vast experience in private equity and M&A adds to our market leading bench of private equity lawyers on the team. His specialized focus on private equity transactions in the financial services sector, coupled with his experience with minority stakes and secondary sales for asset management firms, allows us to expand the scope of innovative solutions we offer to our private equity and asset management clients.”

Reflecting on his move, Miner said: “The depth of Dechert’s bench, particularly in the broader M&A landscape and their robust capabilities across private equity and other financial services sectors, will allow me to better serve my existing and prospective clients. Dechert’s strategic direction aligns perfectly with the current state of my practice and its future trajectory, and I couldn’t be more confident that Dechert is the right platform for me to elevate my practice to its highest level.”

This appointment follows other recent hires from the firm, including that of Eliot L. Relles, who joined the firm’s New York office as global finance partner in the corporate and securities practice group, and Cynthia Beyea, who joined the firm’s financial services group and is based out of the Washington DC office.
