Context:

Based in California, the startup’s mission is to offer an optimal audio experience when watching live sporting events, whether based at home or in the stadium itself.

Edge has previously been part of the Minnesota Twins’ technology accelerator and last year was admitted to the NBA’s own Launchpad accelerator. As well as working with two NBA franchises in the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers, the company had the opportunity to install its technology during the league’s All-Star weekend in Indiana.

Edge was named as one of SportsPro’s annual 20 sports tech ideas to invest in now class of 2024.

Coming next:

Edge’s co-founder and chief executive Valtteri Salomaki (pictured left) told Sports Business Journal (SBJ) that the company was looking to expand its technology offering across the entertainment spectrum, including through innovating in ‘volumetric audio’ for immersive devices such as the Apple Vision Pro.
