CerraCap Ventures is a global venture capital fund that is dedicated to early-stage investments in the areas of cyber security, healthcare, and planet technology. Venture funds like CerraCap play a large role in New Mexico’s emerging venture ecosystem, helping entrepreneurs build and grow companies based on their ideas.
Once those entrepreneurs start their companies, jobs are created, allowing New Mexico’s economy to thrive. “It is about putting opportunity, innovation, capital, and talent together,” says Vikas Datt, partner at CerraCap Ventures. “Once that ecosystem starts growing, it becomes self-sustaining,” adds Datt. Head of Alternative Investments at Merrion’s Family Office Ross Rogers says Merrion Oil and Gas works with CerraCap to provide the capital, which is the last necessary ingredient to help startups in the state.
The corporation Merrion Oil and Gas joined CerraCap when they learned of a New Mexico semiconductor company that needed funding. “They really know how to help startup companies get where they’re going,” says T. Greg Marrion, chairman of Merrion, of CerraCap Ventures’ work.
